This report is a result of research of open sources of court decisions related to hate crime against LGBT people in Russia. It gives a definition of hate crime, general characteristic of available data, analysis of generated criminal statistics for 2010-2015, and a comparison with the USA situation. All results are preliminary and require further analysis. Applied definition of hate crime changes ultimate figures. Yet, the generated data shows existing dynamics of hate crime against LGBT in Russia which is characterised by dramatic growth in recent years after adoption of ‘propaganda of homosexuality’ law.
